Sophie Walker

Sophie left Calne in 2003. After initially studying Art History and working in the Arts she went on holiday to the Bolivian Amazon, returning to England determined to qualify in horticulture. Last year, Sophie became the youngest woman to design a garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Her conceptual garden, Cave Pavilion, used only rare plants, many of which were new to science.

Annual Reunion

It was an absolute pleasure to be surrounded by approximately 25 old girls, enjoying the annual Calne Girls Association reunion at The Wardrobe in Salisbury, on Saturday 3rd October. Generously hosted by the CGA, we were all treated to a delicious sit down lunch in this very prestigious venue in the Cloisters Square, with autumn sunshine streaming through the windows.

A Village in SyriaRosemary Berry (nee Vaughan, 1965) is working with the registered charity A Village in Syria which is concerned with the welfare and living conditions of refugees and internationally displaced persons in the Middle East. Their charitable mission is "to alleviate poverty in Syria and surrounding countries.

1990 Leavers' Reunion

1990 ReunionOn Saturday 27th  June, the School hosted a Silver Jubilee Reunion for the leavers of 1990 in the Helen Wright House, kindly funded by the CGA. 

15 “old girls” returned to school,  several for the first time since leaving,  and were treated to a delicious tea,  a tour of the school, champagne, a three course dinner and of course,  great company from Saturday afternoon until late Sunday morning.
